Court Advisor Training

PreventEd partners with Shine as specialist sexual violence prevention organisation to deliver the MOJ FVSV Response Training Package to the Courts and Court-related workforce around Aotearoa.

This tailored training package equips participants to respond safely, consistently, and appropriately to people who have experienced family violence and sexual violence.

Developed in partnership with specialist sexual violence organisations, kaupapa Māori organisations, and expert advisors, the training is evidence-based, victim-survivor centred, and grounded in the Aotearoa context.

The package includes online pre-learning and two one-day, in-person training sessions. The Foundational Training introduces core concepts, including entrapment, coercive control, and the ‘Recognise, Respond, Refer’ model.

The Advanced Training builds on these foundations, with a focus on response-based practice, recognising and responding to resistance, and working appropriately with people who use violence.
