Safer Futures, Together
Our Safer Futures, Together workshops are designed specifically for parents and caregivers of children aged 0–6. The free, two-hour workshops provide practical, strengths-based strategies that families can use in everyday life to support children’s safety, confidence, communication and healthy relationships.
What will the workshops cover?
A safe and supportive learning environment: Participants will have different levels of comfort with the topics. Facilitators will create a supportive environment and provide options to take a break, access support, or leave if needed.
Everyday safeguarding strategies: Parents will explore simple actions that can be built into everyday family life. The workshop is linked to ACC’s Little Matters initiative, recognising that small, everyday actions can make a difference.
Understanding children’s behaviour: A practical traffic light activity will explore the difference between normal, developmentally appropriate curiosity about bodies and behaviours that may be concerning.
Responding when something is concerning: Participants will learn how to respond supportively if a child shares that they have experienced harm or if they become aware of concerning behaviour, as well as where to go for help and support.
